3. AERA SEEKING NOMINEES FOR RESEARCH PUBLICATION AWARD
Division I (Education in the Professions) of the
American Educational Research Association (AERA)
is seeking nominations for 2006 Outstanding Research
Publication Award http://aera.net/divisions/?id=74
The Outstanding Research Publication Award is given to
a book, chapter, or peer-reviewed article published in
2006 that makes a significant contribution to research
and theory with implications for practice in the field
of education in the professions. Priority is given to
work by Division I members. Deadline for nominations is
January 15, 2007.

4. CALL FOR ABSTRACTS - NEGEA-2007
Abstracts are now being accepted for the 2007 NEGEA
Annual Educational Retreat to be held Friday, June 8,
and Saturday, June 9, 2007, on the campus of Stony
Brook University School of Medicine.
Submit abstracts for short communications (10 minute
oral presentation followed by a 5 minute question and
answer period), posters, and interactive small group
workshops (60 minutes) that address issues relevant
to the education of medical students, residents,
and physicians. Abstracts may be submitted until
February 15, 2007. All submissions will be peer-reviewed
under the aegis of the NEGEA Steering Committee and
authors will be notified of the outcomes by

7. IAHPC Annual Awards
The IAHPC is accepting nominations thru 12/31 for
Recognition Awards Program in three categories:
1. For Individuals who have demonstrated leadership
in palliative care
2. Institutional Award: For institutions (hospitals,
clinics, hospices) that have implemented a successful
and comprehensive palliative care program to meet the
needs of the patients in the relevant community
3. University Award: For academic hospitals, teaching
institutions and universities that have implemented
formal palliative care programs as part of the
undergraduate or graduate levels in either nursing
or medicine.
