* * * * * * * 3. 200th FAST FACT THIS MONTH
This is the 200th Fast Fact and Concept to be published. Fast Facts were started in 2000 by Dr. Eric Warm as a teaching tool at the University of Cincinnati.
They have since become a widely used palliative care educational tool, and are recognized internationally. I think their success has been for two major reasons. First, they have been both practical and high quality, right from the beginning. Second, t hey have been generated with an ethos of open-access and free distribution and so are easily and freely available to anyone worldwide with internet access. I have heard stories of Fast Facts being plastered on staff bathroom walls in hospitals, as well as family members of dying patients handing them to doctors asking why aren't they doing it like the Fast Fact says. I am excited that Fast Facts continue on and hopefully will make it to 400 in another 8 years. Thank you, Fast Fact readers, for your support of this endeavor over the years. Drew A Rosielle MD Editor, Fast Fact and Concepts
