Culture & End of Life applies the LEARN framework as the basis for negotiating mutual understandings of the illness experience and the course of treatment. A) The Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) will hold a hearing for public comment on proposed changes in medical school accreditation standards Saturday, October 28 at 1:30 pm. Read proposed changes at http://www.lcme.org/hearing.htm Comments on the proposed changes may also be submitted in Writing via e-mail; comments are due Oct. 25.
B) First Annual Meeting of the Directors of Medical Education Fellowships - Saturday, October 28th, from 2:00 – 4:00 in Room 210 at the Seattle Convention Center November issue of Academic Medicine is a theme issue on medical education fellowships. One of the authors, Nancy S. Searle, EdD (713-798-7760) and several other authors of articles in this theme issue invite anyone who leads a medical education fellowship, who is interested in beginning one, or anyone who might like to know more about educational fellowships to join them for a very informal meeting on October 28 to discuss topics including the possibility of sharing curricular and evaluation techniques and medical research opportunities.
