Title: Standardized Patient Scenarios - Delivering Bad News

Author(s): Gary Fischer, MD; Bob Arnold, MD; James Tulsky, MD

This submission includes a series of four Standardized Patient (SP) cases. Reviewers write, "The cases are well written and realistic, with detailed descriptions of each patient's perspective on the life-threatening diagnosis. The "ground rules" on page 1 are clear and complete." Other comments caution the user about the educational objectives which were somewhat vague. More specifically, the reviewers indicated that the "The purpose could be clarified and expanded to "Student/physician education and assessment of skills for delivering bad news could be used productively for teaching as well as for assessment".
