Title: Improving End-of-Life Care: A Resource Guide for Physician Education, New 3rd Edition

Author(s): Weissman, DE, Ambuel, B and J Hallenbeck

This 142 page book was written for medical educators to use in teaching critical aspects of EOL care. The book is divided into 11 chapters, each chapter covers one domain (e.g. pain or Giving Bad News); within each chapter are extensive teaching outlines, a pretest, a content outline and either a case study of role playing exercise. An extensive educational reference list is included. This comprehensive book employs a variety of teaching methods to reach its intended educational goals. These goals include: 1. Prepare educators to teach about selected aspects of end-of-life to physicians at the clinical or post-graduate level. 2. Provide educators with specific teaching tools to run experiential exercises. 3. Provide educators with content outlines to be used in lecture or small group encounters. This comprehensive book will be an excellent resource for any end-of-life educator.
